Peintures et dessins homoérotiques
À partir des années 1940, quelques dessinateurs se firent connaître par le biais d’œuvres homoérotiques, dans la lignée de Jean Cocteau. Dans cette section, on découvre Jean Boullet, génie subversif, qui a si bien dessiné les marins et les voyous, en même temps qu’il travaillait à différents projets de livres telle la Divine Comédie.
L’extraordinaire Roland Caillaux, très inspiré par les marins et les scènes de hammams, réalise autour de 1943/1945 des dessins qui chantent le désir entre hommes et l’amour tarifé, le tout mêlé de tendresse.
L’œuvre d’Hildebrand se singularise par des dessins très réalistes sur la prostitution, le SM et les travestis. Son style très expressif est unique en son genre.
Gaston Goor excelle dans la représentation d’allégories ou de scènes mythologiques dont le classicisme renvoie à la Renaissance italienne. Ses nus sont empreints d’une douce poésie.
Soungouroff est le chantre d’une virilité aux accents mélancoliques. Son inspiration lui vient de pêcheurs, de gitans, de marins et de légionnaires, tous beaux à souhait.
André Delfau se distingue par ses esquisses de danseurs et de scènes de hammams.
René Bolliger opte pour les hommes musclés, adonnés à toutes sortes de plaisirs.
Czanara est passé maître dans l’art du portrait.

From the 1940s onwards, a few artists found renown through their homoerotic drawings, following in the footsteps of Jean Cocteau. In this section you will discover Jean Boullet, the subversive genius, who drew sailors and thugs so successfully while working at the same time on books such as The Divine Comedy.
The extraordinary Roland Caillaux, who was greatly inspired by seamen and scenes from hammams, created between 1943 and 1945 drawings which sing of the desire that exists between men and of love for sale, all imbued with a kind of tenderness.
The work of Hildebrand is distinguished by very realistic drawings on the theme of prostitution, sado-masochism and transvestitism. His highly expressive style is unique in the genre.
Gaston Goor excelled in the depiction of allegories and scenes from mythology, with a classicism reminiscent of the Italian Renaissance. His nudes are imbued with a gentle poetry.
Soungouroff eulogised virility with an air of melancholy. His inspiration came from fishermen, gypsies, sailors and Legionnaires, all as handsome as you like.
